Harry Poole (Port Vale) cause of death: What happened to Harry Poole?

Known for his erratic free kicks, Henry Poole played professional football for England and passed away in September 2023. Along with his friend Terry Miles, he was recruited by the Valiants from Milton Youth Club. After making his debut for the team in 1956, he would go on to play 12 years for them after completing his national service in the RAF.

After leaving Vale in 1968, he spent only one season at Sandbach Ramblers before returning to Vale as a supporter. He continued to root for them until his health and the Covid lockdown prevented him from doing so. Along the way, Harry scored 79 goals, including some incredible free kicks, and started more Vale games than any other player besides Roy and Phil Sproson.

On September 27, 2023, Port Vale reported Poole’s passing at the age of 88.
