His African-American mother, Lilian, operated a laundry business, while his father, Harry, was a machine operator.

Who Is Harry Lennix?

Harry Lennix is an American actor and producer who produced the film “Revival!” in 2021, which is a musical that chronicles the Gospel of John.

Lennix is notable for starring as Orpheus Fisher in the 2022 film American Masters, and Boorman in the 2023 film Army of the Dead Lost Vegas.

He was born on November 16, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois, United States, and has appeared in numerous films and TV series.

Some of his works include “The Five Heartbeats”, “Get on the Bus”, “Love & Basketball”, “Ray”, “Man of Steel”, and the TV series “The Blacklist”, where he starred as Harold Cooper.

Lennix has not only contributed to film and television, but to the theater community as well.

Lennix co-founded the Congo Square Theatre Company in Chicago, which focuses on producing stage plays that explore the African American experience.

Some of his notable theater credits include stage productions of Shakespearean plays like “Othello,” “Hamlet,” and “Richard III.”
