Judge Enobie Obanor, presiding over the case, emphasized that Abubakar was given ample opportunity to present her defense but opted not to do so.
The ruling underscores the damaging and false nature of the statements posted by Abubakar on her Instagram account, @halimabubakar, tarnishing Apostle Suleman’s reputation in the eyes of the public.
Consequently, the court awarded Apostle Suleman the sum of N10,000,000 as exemplary and aggravating damages for libel.
Additionally, the court imposed an injunction preventing Abubakar from publishing any further information concerning Apostle Suleman.
