Blanco’s first marriage to Carlos Trujillo resulted in the birth of three sons in Medellín, all arriving before Blanco turned 21. The nuances of her criminal lifestyle and the associated dangers would later shape the destinies of her children.

Her youngest son, Michael Corleone Blanco, entered the world during Blanco’s third marriage to Darío Sepúlveda. The relationship took a dark turn when Sepúlveda left Blanco in 1983, returned to Colombia, and, amid a custody dispute, kidnapped Michael.

In a macabre twist of events, Blanco orchestrated Sepúlveda’s assassination in Colombia, leading to Michael’s return to her care in the United States.

Michael Blanco’s upbringing was marked by tragedy, with the Miami New Times reporting that all of his father and older siblings met violent ends before he reached adulthood.

His mother spent most of his childhood and teenage years behind bars, leaving him to be raised by his maternal grandmother and legal guardians.

In 2012, Michael faced legal troubles, being placed under house arrest after a sentencing on two felony counts of cocaine trafficking and conspiracy to traffic in cocaine. His lonely childhood and the impact of his family history were revealed in a 2018 episode of the Investigation Discovery documentary series “Evil Lives Here.”

Michael Blanco stepped into the public eye in 2019, featuring in the VH1 docuseries “Cartel Crew,” which explores the lives of descendants of drug lords.

Alongside his public appearances, he runs a clothing brand called “Pure Blanco.” Currently residing in Miami with his wife Marie Ramirez De Arellano and their three children, Michael has diversified his interests, venturing into the cannabis business.

Reflecting on his mother’s later years, Michael noted her transformation into a born-again Christian, adding another layer to the complex narrative of Griselda Blanco’s life and the profound impact it had on her family.
