GRIDCo has notified the public that a fault resulted in the interruption of power supply to residents of Akwatia Township and its environs in the Eastern Region.

A statement released on Friday, May 31, GRIDCo revealed that during late hours of Thursday, it’s Akwatia substation experienced a fire incident.
“At 20:00 hours on Thursday, May 30, 2024, the Akwatia substation suffered a fire incident resulting in the curtailment of power supply to Akwatia Township, Oda, Kade, Asamankese, and adjoining towns,” part of the statement read.

The statement also went on to revealed that, “Our engineers are working quickly to resolve the fault and restore power supply as quickly as possible.
“GRIDCo apologises for the inconveniences caused,” the statement added.
