Gregg Berhalter is a 49 year-old former player and coach in the United States. He was born on August 1, 1973, in Englewood, New Jersey, U.S.

He is the current head coach of the US men’s national soccer team. Berhalter previously coached Columbus Crew SC in Major League Soccer, Hammarby IF in Sweden, and the Los Angeles Galaxy as an assistant coach.
Berhalter was named head coach of Swedish club Hammarby IF on December 12, 2011, after serving as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Galaxy.

On July 24, 2013, Berhalter was fired for “lack of attacking play.” On November 6, 2013, Berhalter was appointed as the Columbus Crew’s sporting director and head coach.
Under Berhalter’s leadership, Columbus Crew SC made the playoffs in 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018. They advanced to the 2015 MLS Cup, but were defeated 2-1 at home by the Portland Timbers.
Berhalter was named head coach of the United States national team on December 2, 2018.
Berhalter led the United States to a 2-0 victory over rival Mexico in World Cup Qualifying on November 12, 2021, at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. Following that, the team qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
