In a statement, the GPHA indicated that those involved in the altercation have been reprimanded for their actions.
The confrontation occurred at the Tema port and was captured in video footage shared online, showing a tense exchange between GPHA security personnel and GIS officials.
According to reports, the conflict arose when GPHA security members stationed at the Meridian Port Services (MPS) attempted to apprehend two GIS officers following a dispute during routine vessel checks at the Tema Port.

The disagreement escalated when GPHA security insisted on conducting searches on the immigration officers after they had completed their inspection duties.
However, a GIS inspector objected to body searches by male security personnel, leading to a verbal confrontation and eventually physical altercations.
The GPHA acknowledged that the situation could have been handled more effectively to prevent escalation and emphasized its commitment to the safety and security of all stakeholders.
The authority condemned the behavior displayed by both parties involved in the clash.
