He was born in Bromley, England, which is still the place where most people knew him as Gordon Kennett. Additionally, Edward Kennett, the nephew of Dave Kennett, who rides with the Rye House Rockets and has represented Great Britain in the Speedway World Cup, and brothers Dave and Brian (Barney) also participated in riding.
