On Sunday, August 7, Gord Lewis was found dead at his apartment in Hamilton, Ontario. He was 65.
According to reports, the death is being investigated as a homicide. Jonathan Lewis, Lewis’ 41-year-old son, has been charged with second-degree murder.
According to the Spectator, a reporter there received emails from two accounts in Jonathan Lewis’ name on Saturday, August 6, stating that his father had died.

A staff member called 911 to request a wellness check, which led to the discovery of Gord’s body by police.
Friends and fans who were shocked by the news have been paying their respects online. “A gentle soul of a man,” Nick Sinopoli said, and Brad Germain said, “Tributes are pouring in for a reason.”
“I’ve never heard anyone say anything negative about you,” Dan Walsh said. “We’ve all learned a Teenage Head song or a Gordie Lewis lick at some point in our lives.” I was 16 when I discovered mine… You gave birth to a generation of three-chord rockers.”
