Google Doodle is celebrating an African-American research chemist called Percy Lavon Julian. Percy Julian was celebrated during his 115th birthday on April 11, 2014, and he is regarded by many as a forgettable genius.

Percy Julian founded Julian Associates and Julian Research Institute, which he managed for the rest of his life. A documentary has been made in honour of the works of Percy Julian.
Percy Julian was an American research chemist who made extensive research in the chemical synthesis of medicinal drugs from plants. Percy Julian was born on April 11, 1899, and died on April 19, 1975, at the age of 76 years as a result of liver cancer.

Percy Julian was awarded the Spingarn Medal from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in 1947. Percy Julian is an inductee in the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
Percy Julian was an alumnus of DePauw University, Harvard University and the University of Vienna. Percy Julian was an intellectual and academician and he was the valedictorian at DePauw University as he pursued his undergraduate education.
