Glenn Beck Parents: Meet William Beck, Mary Beck

Glenn Lee Beck is a conservative political commentator, radio host, entrepreneur, and television producer from the United States.

Glen Beck was born in Everett, Washington, to Mary Clara and William Beck, who were living in Mountlake Terrace, Washington, at the time of his birth.

Later, the family relocated to Mount Vernon, Washington, where they owned and operated the City Bakery in the downtown area. Beck and his sister moved to Sumner, Washington, with their mother, to attend a Jesuit school in Puyallup.

Glenn Beck’s mother drowned in Puget Sound near Tacoma, Washington, on May 15, 1979, while out on a small boat with a companion. The man who had taken her out in the boat drowned as well.

In interviews, Beck has described his mother’s death as a suicide. Glenn Beck and his sister moved to their father’s home in Bellingham, Washington, after their mother died, and Beck graduated from Sehome High School in June 1982.

Beck has stated that he used “Dr Jack Daniel’s” to cope after his mother died and his stepbrother committed suicide. After graduating from high school, he moved to Provo, Utah, and began working at the radio station KAYK at the age of 18.
