As of this writing, it is unknown whether Glen “Spot” Lockett had any children or not.

Glen “Spot” Lockett died on March 4, 2023, at Morningside Healthcare in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

Glen Lockett died recovering from a stroke he had suffered three months earlier. He had been suffering from fibrosis since late 2021 and was awaiting a lung transplant before his stroke.

Glen “Spot” Lockett was behind the boards for the majority of the seminal SST Records releases that launched the L.A.-based independent label between 1980 and 1985, including Husker Du’s “Zen Arcade” and “New Day Rising,” Black Flag’s “Damaged” and “Jealous Again.”

Glen “Spot” Lockett was also a well-known photographer whose work documenting the South Bay in the late 1970s and early 1980s was the subject of books and gallery exhibits. “Sounds of Two Eyes Opening,” a hardbound edition of photos from that time and place, was released in 2014.
