Glen Kuiper began his broadcasting career at a small radio station in his hometown.
In 1992, Kuiper got his big break when he was hired as a sports anchor and reporter for KTVN-TV in Reno, Nevada.
In 2004, Kuiper joined the Oakland Athletics broadcast team as the play-by-play announcer on the team’s radio broadcasts. Today, he is the primary play-by-play announcer for the Oakland Athletics on NBC Sports California.
Kuiper’s broadcasting career has not been limited to baseball. He has also called games for the San Francisco Giants, Sacramento Kings, and Golden State Warriors, among other teams.
He has won several awards for his work, including the Northern California Emmy Award for Best Sports Broadcast in 2003 and the Associated Press Award for Best Sportscast in California in 2006.
In addition to his broadcasting work, Kuiper is also active in the community. He has served as the honorary chairman of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Sacramento and has been involved in several other charitable organizations.
