On the club side, Lodetti played primarily as a midfielder with AC Milan from 1960 to 1970.
During his time with AC Milan, he achieved much success including winning the European Cup (now the UEFA Champions League) on two occasions.
Lodetti also helped AC Milan secure Serie A (Italian top division) titles in the 1961-62 and 1967-68 seasons.
In addition to league success, Lodetti was part of the AC Milan team that won the Coppa Italia (Italian domestic cup) in the 1966-67 season.
Lodetti retired from professional football in 1978, but remained a respected figure in Italian football until his death.
He died on September 22, 2023, at the age of 81.
