Ghana’s Baba Iddrisu Nearing Move to Major League Soccer (MLS)

Major League Soccer (MLS) side New England Revolution is close to signing Baba Iddrisu, the defensive midfielder from La Liga club Mallorca,  Spanish news outlet Relevo reports.

Relevo has reported positive progress in negotiations between New England Revolution and Almeria, the club from which Baba Iddrisu is currently on loan from Mallorca.

While nothing has been officially confirmed, New England is keen to finalize the deal.

Since joining RCD Mallorca’s youth setup in January 2014, Iddrisu has made notable progress in Spanish football. Following his contributions to Mallorca’s first team, he made a move to Almeria on loan with a buyout clause in August 2023.

Despite encountering challenges at Almeria, the 28-year-old has showcased his consistency and reliability as a defensive midfielder, tallying 24 appearances in the ongoing La Liga season.

Having amassed 150 appearances for Mallorca’s first team, Baba Iddrisu’s potential transfer to the New England Revolution presents a substantial opportunity for the Ghana midfielder to continue advancing his career.

Furthermore, Baba Iddrisu’s performances have garnered attention, establishing him as a dependable player in the Spanish league and a regular member of the Ghana national team, the Black Stars.
