The two women traveled to Port Harcourt, Nigeria, to attend a wedding that was eventually canceled.
They decided to pursue other business activities, which led them to move from Port Harcourt in Rivers State to Aba, the capital of Abia State, where they were last seen.
There is strong suspicion that Afiba might have fallen into the hands of kidnappers in Aba, a commercial city in Nigeria, according to a report by the Daily Guide newspaper. The report also mentioned that Afiba’s passport number is G3907849.
Reports on social media suggest that the incident occurred in April 2024. Allegedly, a suspect named Andrew Amaechi, who was found in possession of their belongings, has been arrested by the police, although there has been no formal police statement on the issue.

The Daily Guide detailed the sequence of events leading to Afiba’s disappearance. After the wedding they planned to attend was canceled, Afiba and Celine met with another acquaintance, Adiani Blessing Onyinye, whose wedding was called off at Garden Heights Estate in GRA, Port Harcourt on April 19, 2024.
On April 27, 2024, the pair traveled to meet Celine’s associate in Aba for a business engagement related to pet-related ventures, an area Afiba was involved in. They were last seen at Panyu Hotel and Resort in Abia and promised to return by April 29.
Concern for the two women escalated when reports on April 28 suggested a possible abduction. Afiba sent an urgent WhatsApp message with a live location marker to a mutual contact in Port Harcourt, prompting immediate action.
The matter was reported to the Aba Anti-Kidnapping Squad, which urged collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force to locate the missing women.
As the search continues, Afiba’s family and the Ghanaian community are anxious for her safe return. The case highlights the importance of safeguarding individuals traveling across borders and the crucial role of law enforcement in addressing such cases of missing persons.
