Ghanaian Rapper, Desmond Blackmore, best known as D Black, has been faced with heavy backlash from social media users after showing that the Ghanaian Apple Music Top 20 Songs are almost full of Nigerian songs.

According to the screenshots posted by the Rapper, eighteen (18) out of the top twenty (20) songs of Ghana’s Apple Music chart are songs by Nigerian artistes. In the post made by Black, he shared that it is very sad to know that the Nigerian music industry is gradually swallowing the Ghanaian industry.
“Ei Ghana! Our TOP 20 Songs on apple music are 18 Nigerian songs !!? Awurade !!! Like… How do we touch the rest of the world if it doesn’t start from home ? Sigh,” he wrote in a tweet.

This has made netizens retorted that Black’s nightclubs in Accra, Ghana, Oasis and Onyx play only Nigerian songs during an event or program, therefore, he should address that first before coming at the masses. Some also expressed that Nigerian artistes make quality and danceable songs than Ghanaian artistes, so, it’s not surprising they are leading the charts.
Others also shared that, Nigeria and Ghana are two great nations that help each other in terms of entertainment, therefore, it’s even amazing to see that it’s not any country outside Africa that is taking over the scene.
