Cathy Connolly is the wife of Gerry Connolly, an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for Virginia’s 11th congressional district, first elected in 2008.

The couple has been married for more than forty-five years. They live in Mantua and have been residents of Fairfax County since 1979. Their daughter, Caitlin Rose, is a graduate of the University of Virginia.
Gerry Connolly is a member of the Democratic Party and has served as the U.S. Representative for Virginia’s 11th congressional district since January 2009.
Gerry is a senior member of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, where he chairs the Subcommittee on Government Operations.
Gerry serves on the Oversight Committee, where he uses his background in state and local issues to shape government procurement, technology, and information policy, as well as overseeing federal agencies such as the United States Postal Service and the Census Bureau.

He is a tireless advocate for Northern Virginia’s incredible civil servants, government contractors, and information technology workers, who form the backbone of the region’s economy and workforce.
Congressman Connolly also serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, as well as the Subcommittees on the Middle East and North Africa and Asia and the Pacific.
Gerry has received numerous awards in Congress for assisting veterans and children of active military families at war, promoting smart growth initiatives, protecting parklands and fragile natural areas, and advocating for increased breast cancer research and treatment.
