Geraint Howell Thomas currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Ineos Grenadiers, Wales and Great Britain. In his early career, he won a silver medal in the points race at the 2004 UEC European Track Championships. He then became a member of British Cycling’s Olympic Academy.

Geraint Thomas won the Carwyn James Junior Award at the BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year ceremony. Geraint Thomas became the youngest rider in the race following his Tour de France debut at the 2007 race. He went ahead to complete his first Tour de France, finishing 140th of 141 finishers.
