George William Weidler was a songwriter and saxophonist from the United States. He was the older brother of former child actress Virginia Weidler and the second husband of singer-actress Doris Day (married 1946–1949).

George, unlike Al, was not violent, but he was said to resent being Doris’ stepfather and to have a wandering eye. During their brief marriage, he cheated on her and couldn’t take how famous she had become, and the pair separated in 1949.

His two brothers, Warner (born Werther; 1922–2010) and Walter (born Wolfgang; 1923–2002), both saxophonists, were in the band with Charlie Barnet. They also performed as the Weidler Brothers Orchestra from the early 1940s until 1952, when they signed with Capitol Records as “The Wilder Brothers.” The Weidler Brothers made the transition from jazz to pop around 1950
