George Alagiah Wife: Meet Frances Robathan

Frances Robathan is the wife of renowned British newsreader, journalist and television news presenter, George Alagiah.

Frances Robathan worked as the Senior Partnerships Adviser of the Fairtrade Foundation for 18 years since 2002. She also held the position of Head of Programme Partnerships and Head of Institutional Fundraising at the Foundation.

George Alagiah and Frances first met at Durham University. George Alagiah tied the knot with his longtime partner Frances Robathan in 1984.

George Alagiah and Frances have two children, Adam Alagiah and Matthew Alagiah. As of 2022, George Alagiah and Frances are living in Stoke Newington, North London.

George Alagiah received the Outstanding Achievement in Television award at the Asian Awards in 2010. Alagiah’s debut novel The Burning Land was shortlisted for a Society of Authors award in 2020.
