From 1989 until his departure in 1993, Gary Young, an American musician and music producer, played the drums for the indie rock band Pavement.

He collaborated with Brian Thalken of The Authorities in the punk band The Fall of Christianity at the beginning of the decade.

He appeared in Jed I. Rosenberg’s Louder Than You Think, a documentary on his own life and career, which was released in 2023.

The movie had its global premiere at South by Southwest on March 13, 2023, and it was well received, winning the “Audience Award”: Serena Seghedoni of Loud and Clear Reviews called it “compelling,” and Alan French of Sunshine State Cinempex called it “illuminating and nostalgic.”
