He began playing snooker at age three and at age eight, he was already playing in local league clubs.

Wilson made his first public appearance at the BBC1’s snooker game show series Junior Big Break: Stars of the Future. He was aged nine at the time.

He went on to play exhibition matches with the likes of John Parrott and Willie Thorne, and won many national titles.

Wilson has also won the UK Under-18 championship on two occasions, and one ranking title.
