He and his wife Kristy Danielson have four children. Their children attended Rochester Adams High School and lived in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
Matt, their son, played collegiate football at Northwestern. Kelly Danielson, their daughter, attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville after graduating from high school to further her education.
She graduated from college in 2020. Kelly also attended the University of Dayton, according to her Facebook profile.
Kelly presently works as a realtor/partner with World Class Realty Partners, according to her LinkedIn profile. The names of their other kids are not public knowledge.

Gary Danielson was a National Football League (NFL) quarterback. From 1976 to 1984, he was a member of the Detroit Lions, and in 1985, 1987, and 1988, he was a member of the Cleveland Browns.
He has served as a pundit for CBS Sports’ Southeastern Conference college football coverage since 2006. He previously worked for ABC Sports from 1997 to 2005 and ESPN from 1990 to 1996.
