Garth Snow is a well-known American ice hockey goalie who was born in Wrentham, Massachusetts, on July 28, 1969. In the sixth round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft, the Quebec Nordiques selected Snow out of Mount Saint Charles Academy.

He immediately enrolled in the University of Maine, where he played for four years, and three years in a row, he was the NCAA’s winningest player. He was selected for the All-Tournament team in 1993 after assisting in the team’s 42-1-2 record and NCAA Championship victory.

After spending the majority of 1993–94 as a member of the US national team, which included participation in the 1994 Winter Olympics, he shifted to his professional career, making his NHL debut for the Nordiques in five games.
