Freddie Ross Hancock Cause of Death

Freddie Ross Hancock, a British marketing consultant and publicist who represented Sophia Loren, Julie Andrews, Benny Hill, Theodore Bikel, and Jim Dale passed away on 27 November 2022. She was 92 years old.

Ross Hancock died Sunday at her Manhattan home, according to friend and former Warner Bros. executive Luke Fontneau.

In 2002, she was made a Member of the British Empire. She began her career in public relations with the Holland America cruise line before transitioning to show business. Her early clients included Sheila Hancock, Terry Scott, and Hugh Lloyd, in addition to her future husband and Hill.

Before launching her own firm, Ross Hancock worked for Universal Pictures’ U.K. arm, where she advised Shelley Winters, Rock Hudson, and Piper Laurie. In 1969, she co-wrote Hancock, a book about her husband, who struggled with alcoholism.

She also worked as Senior Vice-President of Acquisitions for the film distributor American Video Films in the 1990s and 2000s, where she was a popular figure at the Cannes Film Festival. She was Vice-Chairman of the Royal Television Society’s US wing in addition to co-founding BAFTA.
