He was announced dead by his wife, actress Isabelle Lajeunesse through a journalist named Sylvain Cormier via social media. He died after a tragic fall in Labelle on Friday, May 5, 2023. He was 76 years old.
“The following text is a kind of press release, written at the request and the permission of Isabelle Lajeunesse, Francois Guy’s spouse, following the sudden death of the latter, which occurred accidentally last Friday,” the statement began.
“It’s not the same when you’re not here. It would take words to announce this to you not too violently. A joke, which would make you laugh anyway. Something joyful, loving not sad. Something like Francois Guy. He should be the one who wrote this. There is no way to make it a song, which would rhyme with something. Sense. But no, facts are facts, and death is death,” the statement read.
