During the late 1960s, Cozzo ventured into television production, showcasing local Italian-Australian musical talents on Channel 0.
Remarkably, this became the nation’s first non-English TV show, predating ethnic broadcasting on the Special Broadcasting Service by over a decade. Concurrently, he secured what would become his flagship store in Footscray.
By 1981, Cozzo’s distinctive advertising had not only shaped his business but had also elevated Footscray’s profile. The local council honored him with a plaque, recognizing his significant contribution to the community.
Cozzo’s passing on December 20, 2023, at the age of 87, marks the end of an era, leaving behind a legacy that transcends business.
