The Ghana Police Service has apprehended six individuals for orchestrating a fabricated kidnapping scheme.

The group includes two adults who have identified as Isaac Kissi Adjei, also known as Kofi Black, and Courage Teiko, alias Timmy, and four Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC) students.
According to a statement by the police, preliminary investigations suggest that one of the juveniles masterminded the counterfeit kidnapping to coerce money from his parents for overseas travel expenses.

The group collectively demanded a ransom of Three Hundred and Forty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵340,000.00) from the victim’s parents.

Later, it was revealed that the juveniles, along with the two adults, succeeded in obtaining Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵20,000.00) from the ransom they had demanded.
Further investigation is presently ongoing, and following standard protocol, the identities of the juveniles have been withheld. Additionally, their parents and guardians have been duly informed.
