Former UFC Fighter Mark Coleman Hospitalized After Rescuing Parents from House Fire

Retired UFC fighter Mark Coleman is in an induced coma in intensive care following a harrowing ordeal where he valiantly rescued his parents from a devastating house fire in Toledo, Ohio.

His manager, Michael DiSabato, confirmed the distressing news late Tuesday, March 12, 2024, shedding light on the courageous act that landed Coleman in critical condition.

Despite the grave circumstances, family members, expressed optimism regarding Coleman’s prognosis. DiSabato conveyed late Tuesday that Coleman’s mother, among others, firmly believes in his ability to overcome this dire situation.

The dramatic events unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday, around 4 a.m., when Coleman was abruptly awakened by the persistent barking of the family’s loyal dog, Hammer.

Reacting swiftly to the urgent call, Coleman heroically sprang into action, first rescuing his father and then his mother from the engulfing flames that ravaged their home.

DiSabato disclosed that Coleman’s family indicated the fire originated in the kitchen, quickly escalating into a life-threatening inferno.

Displaying unwavering courage, Coleman embarked on a third rescue mission, attempting to save Hammer.  Despite his valiant efforts, Coleman tragically lost the beloved family pet in the chaos and devastation that ensued.

The precise sequence of events leading to Coleman’s hospitalization remains unclear. DiSabato elaborated that the roof collapsed as firefighters arrived at the scene, with Coleman succumbing to the effects of smoke inhalation amidst the chaos and pandemonium.

Transported urgently to a Toledo hospital via helicopter, Coleman’s condition remains critical, while his parents thankfully escaped serious injury in the ordeal.

Amidst the turmoil, Coleman’s daughter, Morgan Coleman, took to Instagram to rally support, revealing that her father is currently “fighting for his life.”

Fire officials are yet to provide detailed information regarding the cause and extent of the blaze, which left the Coleman family home nearly obliterated.
