Former UFC and Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) fighter Geane Herrera has passed away following a motorcycle accident late on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

The accident occurred on the Gandy Bridge in Tampa, Florida.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that Herrera, 33, was traveling at a very high speed toward Hillsborough County when he collided with the back of a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The impact caused Herrera to strike a concrete barrier and be thrown back into the road, where he fell several hundred feet before his motorcycle caught fire. The driver of the Jeep was unharmed.
The Herrera family has launched a fundraiser to help them during this difficult time.

Known as “La Pulga,” Herrera was an American fighter of Colombian descent, born in California. He made his professional mixed martial arts debut at the age of 20 in March 2011.
Before signing with the UFC in 2014, Herrera competed exclusively in regional organizations in the Southeastern United States, where he maintained an undefeated record of 8-0.
In BKFC, Herrera had a split record in his most recent bouts, winning against Abdiel Velazquez and losing to Reggie Barnett Jr. at BKFC 19 and BKFC 32, respectively.
