Former Roots bassist, Leonard Hubbard, was an American musician who made fame as the bass guitarist for The Roots band. Leonard Hubbard was an alumnus of the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Leonard Hubbard spent almost 15 years with The Roots Band and he left the band in 2007. Leonard Hubbard played on records like “Things Fall Apart” and “The Tipping Point.”

Leonard Hubbard was born in 1959 and he died on December 16, 2021, at the age of 62 years. According to reports, Leonard Hubbard died as a result of multiple myeloma.
Leonard Hubbard battled myeloma, which is blood cancer, for several years and that led him out of The Roots band in 2007.
