Soon after, he received a pass from Joshua Kimmich near Scotland’s penalty area and scored with his right foot, giving Germany a 10th-minute lead.

Wirtz, who celebrated his 21st birthday recently, became the youngest-ever goalscorer for Germany at the European Championship, surpassing Kai Havertz.

Havertz previously held the record for his goal against Portugal at Euro 2020 (held in 2021), but Wirtz achieved this feat at the age of 21 years and 42 days.

Shortly after Wirtz’s goal, Jamal Musiala (21 years and 109 days old) scored another goal for Germany, further adding to their dominance in the first half under coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Germany became the first team at the Euros to have multiple players aged 21 or younger scoring in the same match. Havertz also contributed by scoring a third goal for Germany from a penalty kick before halftime.
