Fletcher Newell plays prop for the Crusaders in Super Rugby and the All Blacks when they compete internationally. He was born in New Zealand on March 1, 2000.

In addition to being named the Rugby Age Grade Player of the Year for New Zealand in 2019, Newell represented New Zealand at the Under 20 Championship in Argentina. He participated in the 2020 Canterbury Mitre 10 Cup team.

In the 2021 Super Rugby Aotearoa season, Newell was selected for the Crusaders team and made his debut. On August 13, 2022, against South Africa in Johannesburg, Newell made his debut for New Zealand in an international match.
