Five men accused of murdering South African rapper AKA have been denied bail.

The suspects appeared in the Durban magistrate’s court on Wednesday, where their bail application was rejected.
The magistrate deemed releasing them would be reckless and irresponsible, according to News24.

The killing of AKA, along with his close friend Tebello Motsoane, occurred last year outside a restaurant in Durban, shocking the nation.
Police investigations revealed that hitmen were hired to target AKA, although the motive behind the attack remains undisclosed.
Additionally, two more individuals accused in connection with the murder are awaiting extradition from Eswatini.
