Fiona Hill is a popular British-American foreign affairs specialist and academic who served at the U.S. National Security Council.

Fiona Hill was born in October 1965, in Bishop Auckland, the United Kingdom to parents, Alfred Hill and June Murray. Her father Alfred Hill is a coal miner while her mother is a midwife, June Murray.

Fiona Hill’s father passed away in 2012. He attended Bishop Barrington School and later studied history and Russian at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. She proceeded to Harvard University where she earned a master’s degree in Russian and modern history in 1991, as well as a PhD in history in 1998.

Fiona Hill has previously worked in the research department at the John F. Kennedy School of Government from 1991 to 1999. She also worked as a national intelligence analyst of Russia and Eurasia at the National Intelligence Council from 2006 to 2009.
