He then moved to North America to pursue his professional career in the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). In the CHL, Zadina played for the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

During his time with the Halifax Mooseheads, Zadina showcased his scoring ability and offensive instincts. In the 2017-2018 season, he recorded an impressive 44 goals and 38 assists for a total of 82 points in just 57 games.

He led all rookies in scoring, was chosen to the First All-Star Team and the All-Rookie Team, and was awarded the Michael Bossy Trophy as the league’s finest professional prospect.

Zadina was selected sixth overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Red Wings during the 2018-2019 season. Since then, Zadina has been a regular member of the team’s lineup, contributing offensively and continuing to develop his game.
