Felix Afena Gyan is aged 18 years and became the first player born in the years after 2003 to score in the Italian Serie A. After playing amateur and high school soccer in Ghana, Felix Afena Gyan joined the Roma youth academy in the early months of 2021. Felix Afena Gyan was born in Sunyani, Ghana and was picked up by the Rome-based club via the EurAfrica FC Academy. Felix earned his first call-up in the Ghana Black Stars on November 4, 2021, but rejected the call-up to focus on his growing club career.

Felix Afena Gyan substituted Uzberkistanian attacker Eldor Shomurodov on the 75th minute in AS Roma’s away encounter with Genoa at Marassi. With only seven minutes in play, Felix Afena Gyan broke the deadlock for the visitors, AS Roma, and sealed the victory in the 95th minute with a stunning curling goal.
After scoring, Afena Gyan went straight to Jose Mourinho to celebrate with him as he appreciated the confidence Mourinho has in him.
