Fani Willis Legal Career
Fani Willis’ illustrious career has spanned 16 years and has been marked by notable achievements and a relentless dedication to justice.
Willis’s journey in the legal arena began within the Fulton County district attorney’s office, where she served as a prosecutor for the majority of her career.
However, it was her role as the lead prosecutor in the 2014-2015 trial of twelve educators that thrust her into the national spotlight.

These educators were accused of manipulating students’ test scores to artificially boost the results of state-administered standardized tests.

Willis’s unyielding pursuit of justice led to the conviction of eleven out of the twelve individuals, who were found guilty of racketeering under Georgia’s RICO statute in April 2015.
Her legal prowess and unwavering dedication were further acknowledged when she assumed the role of chief municipal judge for South Fulton, Georgia, in 2019, following a brief stint in private practice starting in 2018.
In 2020, Fani Willis achieved a historic milestone when she was elected as the district attorney for Fulton County.
Her election as the first woman to hold this esteemed position underscored the trust placed in her to uphold justice and fairness in the county.
However, Willis’s office took a groundbreaking step on August 14, 2023, by indicting Trump and 18 others on a total of 41 charges.
