Famous People With Motor Neurone Disease

The following is a list of a few famous persons who have or have had motor neuron disease, a group of rare neurodegenerative disorders that affect motor neurons, the cells that govern the body’s voluntary muscles.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), progressive bulbar palsy (PBP), pseudobulbar palsy, progressive muscular atrophy (PMA), primary lateral sclerosis (PLS), spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), and monomeric amyotrophy (MMA), as well as other rarer ALS-like forms.

The disease eventually leads to paralysis. Most people’s lives are substantially shortened by motor neuron disease.

The illness has a three-year life expectancy for nearly half of people who develop symptoms. Some people, on the other hand, may survive for up to ten years, and in exceptional situations, even longer.
