Ngannou, 37, shared the devastating news on all his social media platforms from his home country of Cameroon, where he is currently residing with his family.
In a heartfelt tribute to his son, Kobe, Ngannou expressed the pain of losing his beloved child.
The tribute read: “Too soon to leave but yet he’s gone. My little boy, my mate, my partner Kobe was full of life and joy. Now, he’s laying without life. I shouted his name over and over but he’s not responding. I was my best self next to him and now I have no clue of who I am. Life is so unfair to hit us where it hurts the most. How do you deal with such a thing? How can you live with it? Please help me if you have an idea because I really don’t know what to do and how to deal with this.”

Ngannou’s journey in combat sports is notable for its extraordinary trajectory. After immigrating to Europe from Africa in his 20s, he quickly rose to prominence in heavyweight mixed martial arts. In 2021, he clinched the UFC championship by defeating Stipe Miocic and went on to defend the title before venturing into professional boxing.
Despite his loss to Tyson Fury in a highly anticipated boxing match last October, Ngannou’s performance earned widespread praise. He remains an iconic figure in combat sports, with an exclusive deal with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) for MMA bouts.
Following the tragic news of Kobe’s passing, condolences poured in from members of Ngannou’s team, fellow fighters, and promoters across the combat sports community. UFC star Conor McGregor expressed his sympathy, writing, “I am so sorry to hear of your loss Francis, my prayers are with you and your family at this time.”
