Jackson went missing on June 11 after being swept away by a river while rafting on the Payette River with his girlfriend, according to KIVITV.

They had missed their departure, but she was able to clutch to a tree and paddle her way to safety. Jackson vanished underwater and never came back, according to a witness in Gem County.

Jackson, who was a freshman on the LSU-Eunice basketball team for the 2020-21 season, was tubing with five buddies at the time of the accident, according to cops.

The water was flowing at a rate that was harmful to anybody who wasn’t using a motorised device, according to Gem County Sheriff Donnie Wunder. Water levels in the river had risen by two feet just days before the accident.

According to Houma Today, it was running at 10,200 cubic feet per second, roughly four times the usual speed for June.
