Robert Craig “Evel” Knievel was born on October 17, 1938, in Butte, Montana, United States of America. Evel Knievel was born as the first of two children to Robert E. and Ann Marie Keough Knievel in Butte, Montana.

Evel Knievel, after completing his sophomore year in Butte High School, left education and got a job as a diamond drill operator with the Anaconda Mining Company. However, his true passion was in motorbiking and not in the mining industry.

Over the course of his career, Evel Knievel attempted more than 75 ramp-to-ramp motorcycle jumps and suffered numerous injuries, including broken bones.

Evel Knievel had a toy line and a movie made about him, “Viva Knievel!”. Evel Knievel was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 1999. Evel Knievel is the father of Robbie Knievel, Kelly Knievel, Tracey Knievel and Alicia Knievel.
