Eva Mireles: Teacher Who Died In Uvalde TX (Texas School Shooting Latest Update)

A fourth-grade teacher and children who were “loving” and “full of life” were among those killed in a mass shooting which occurred at a Texas elementary school on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

The teacher identified as Eva Mireles and the children were the casualties when Salvador Ramos, aged 18, opened fire just before noon on at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, a small city west of San Antonio.

In all, 19 children and two teachers were killed by Salvador until he was shot and killed by a Border Patrol agent.

Lydia Martinez Delgado an aunt of Mireles confirmed to ABC News that Mireles was killed in the shooting.

Lydia revealed that Mireles had been a teacher in the school district for approximately 17 years.

Mireles posted a letter on the school’s website at the start of the school year, introducing herself to her new students.

Mireles’ letter read;

“Welcome to the 4th grade! We have a wonderful year ahead of us!”

In the letter, Mireles noted that she had been teaching 17 years, loved running and hiking, and had a “supportive, fun, and loving family.”

Mireles also mentioned that her husband was a school district police officer, and they had a grown daughter and three “furry friends.”
