On August 7, 2015, he signed a two-year contract with Greek giants Olympiacos.
He renewed his contract on 11 July 2016, and on 9 March 2017, following the dismissal of Olympiacos manager Paulo Bento, he returned to the starting lineup against Beşiktaş for the first leg of the UEFA Europa League round of 16 stage, and headed the opening goal of a 1-1 draw, earning him the man of the match honors.
Cambiasso confirmed his retirement from professional football on September 8, 2017, two months after his contract with Olympiacos expired.
