Summer hit song ‘Essence’ by Wizkid and Tems has yet again acquired another international milestone. The song has now become the first Nigerian song to debut the No. 1 spot on US Urban Radio Chart.

The song peaked at the highest level on the chart a while ago and was announced on social media. Many people have commended the Grammy award winner for taking time to deliver such a precious tune with his compatriot, Tems. ‘Essence’ is by far the most chart-breaking song released by an African this year. It has raked in one million searches on Shazam and also debuted the No. 1 spot on the Shazam Most Search Songs Chart in the US.

During the peak of the song, Canadian Singer, Justin Bieber jumped on it for the remix version. American Rapper, Da Baby has also recorded a freestyle version of it which has been strongly rejected by the masses. ‘Essence’ is by far the most successful African song in 2021.
