According to reports, Vunipola was involved in an altercation at Epic bar in Palma around 4:30 am on Sunday, April 28, 2024.
Witnesses claim that the 6ft 2in, 20-stone back rower became aggressive and attempted to attack customers and security personnel, prompting police intervention.
Vunipola was allegedly tasered by officers after removing his shirt and threatening staff and patrons with bottles and chairs.
Following his arrest, he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was sedated and strapped to his bed. He later appeared in court and has been released on bail pending further investigation.
Saracens, Vunipola’s club team, released a statement acknowledging the incident and stating that they will handle the matter internally.

Vunipola then released a statement of his own denying that he was violent and claiming that the incident was an “unfortunate misunderstanding” but confirming the arrest and payment of a fine.

He said: “I can confirm I was involved in an unfortunate misunderstanding when I was leaving a club in Mallorca on Sunday, which got out of hand.
“Contrary to media reports, there was no violence, no fight and I did not threaten anybody at any stage, with bottles or chairs or anything else. I was charged with resisting the law and, following an ‘express trial’, I have paid a fine of 240 euros.
“The Spanish police investigation is now closed, and I am flying back to the UK today. I will obviously cooperate with the Saracens internal process and unreservedly apologise for any inconvenience to all involved.”
The 31-year-old rugby player, who has won 75 caps for England, is expected to leave Saracens at the end of the season to join French side Montpellier. This incident could potentially impact his future career prospects.
While it is not confirmed whether alcohol was involved in the incident, Vunipola has had previous alcohol-related incidents, including missing curfew during the 2019 Six Nations tournament. He had previously stated that he had stopped drinking following a conversation with his family.
