Raducanu was slated to compete in the first round against China’s Wang Xiyu on Tuesday, March 19 2024.

However, her participation was cut short due to the injury, leaving fans disappointed as they hoped to see her continue her journey at the prestigious tournament, which is being broadcasted live on Sky Sports.

The young tennis sensation faced Aryna Sabalenka in the third round of the Indian Wells tournament, where she put up a valiant effort but ultimately succumbed to a 6-3, 7-5 defeat.

Despite her loss, Raducanu showcased her resilience on the court, demonstrating her determination to regain her form since her return from an eight-month absence following surgery on both wrists and ankle.

Raducanu’s withdrawal from the Miami Open comes as a blow to her aspirations, especially considering her recent strides in consecutive wins for the first time since her remarkable run to the last 16 of the same tournament last year.

Additionally, the 21-year-old has yet to secure a victory against a top-10 player on the WTA Tour, adding further challenge to her competitive journey.

Having been granted a wildcard entry to the Miami Open, Raducanu was poised to seize the opportunity to showcase her skills on the court once again.

However, her lower back injury has forced her to sideline her participation, leaving fans eagerly awaiting her return to full fitness and form.

Raducanu has been diligently working with her childhood coach, Nick Cavaday, as she navigates her comeback journey in the competitive world of tennis.
