Elvis Presley Almost Got Arrested for His Suspicious dance moves. Elvis and his distinctive dancing routines were considered vulgar in the 1950s since mainstream culture was still conservative; nonetheless, teen girls couldn’t get enough of his trademark hip-swivelling and leg-shaking.

The Catholic Church also chastised Elvis, writing an article titled “Beware Elvis Presley.” Elvis’ girlfriend June Juanico wrote Elvis: In the Twilight of Memory in 1997.

In the novel, June recalls how a Florida judge threatened to jail Elvis in 1956 for his dance moves, and how their friend Buddy Conrad discovered a piece about Elvis’ dancing in a local newspaper in Jacksonville.
June claims that “Elvis’ arrest warrants were issued in advance. The cops were on the lookout for any wriggle and threatened to arrest him if he made one wrong move. They were even taping the show as evidence.” Fortunately, Elvis was never arrested for his dancing skills.
