Elliotte Friedman is a hockey reporter who works for Sportsnet, for the NHL Network, and as a regular anchor on CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada.

Born on September 27, 1970, in Ontario, Canada, Friedman graduated from the University of Western Ontario, where he gained his first experience as a sports editor.

Friedman has worked across radio and TV. He worked for the Toronto sports radio station The Fan 590, served as reporter on Toronto Blue Jays games, and eventually, the London Free Press and the Toronto Star.

Other stations Friedman has served include The Score network, and CBC Sports, playing host on the CFL on CBC, for some Toronto Raptors games, the CBC’s Olympic Games, and Hockey Night on CBC.

Friedman was the commentator during the swimming events at the 2016 Summer Olympics covered by CBC.

Friedman has received a number of awards in his field, including the Telemedia Reporter of the Year award, and the Best Sports Reporting Gemini Award.
